When on a Keto diet, desserts come with lowered expectations. However, this Keto-friendly Paneer Burfi recipe demonstrates that discipline and indulgence can coexist. This decadent sweet is a perfect alternative to the sugary Indian Desserts you used to love. The best part is that you can enjoy it without any sugar overload or guilt from carbs. If you are following the Keto diet and have been missing those sweet treats at Indian celebrations, this burfi is a pleasant reminder that mindful meals can still be enjoyable.

Having followed a Keto Lifestyle for many years, I know first-hand that desserts should fulfill your craving, not restrict it. This Keto sweet treat is easy to prepare using basic ingredients, requires little preparation, and tastes like a comforting dessert from your childhood. You can make it for holidays, parties, family gatherings, or just for yourself. It works great for a low-carb diet!

Preparation time

Cooking time

Total time
20 to 25 minutes (plus chilling time)

Servings
8 to 10 pieces

Ingredients:

* 200g paneer (grated or crumbled finely)
* 2 to 3 tbsp heavy cream Heavy Cream
* 2 to 3 tablespoons of Erythritol, Stevia, or Monkfruit (adjust to taste)
* 1 tbsp ghee
* 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
* Slivered almonds, pistachios, or a few saffron strands for garnishing

Instructions:

1. Take a non-stick pan and add ghee on a low-medium flame. Heat it and add grated paneer. Sauté for 2 to 3 minutes to remove excess moisture without letting it turn brown.

2. Add the heavy cream and keep stirring continuously until the cream and paneer blend well into a grainy, thick paste.

3. Add your preferred keto-friendly sweetener (Erythritol, Stevia, or Monkfruit) and cardamom powder. Keep cooking with constant stirring for another 2 to 4 minutes until the mixture begins leaving the sides of the pan.

4. Take a small tray or plate and grease it with some ghee. Transfer the mixture to this tray and level evenly with a spatula for about ½ ½-inch thickness.

5. Add chopped nuts and saffron on top, pressing them down gently to ensure they stick to the mixture.

6. Let it cool at room temperature and refrigerate for at least 1 to 2 hours to set firmly.

7. Take it out and cut into diamond or square shapes.
