Halloween Bark Recipe – How to make a fun dessert treat with chocolate for the spooky season – with a video tutorial.
Halloween Bark Recipe
This Halloween Bark Recipe makes a super easy, fun chocolate treat that you can make during the spooky season to take along to parties or gift to friends.
You can get as creative as you’d like, adding on your choice of Halloween themed toppings to the simple dessert treat.
How To Make Spooky Chocolate Bark
To make the base of the bark, you only need one ingredient – chocolate. I went for a 200g/7oz block of dark chocolate, but you can feel free to swap for milk, white, super dark or any block of chocolate you’d like.
Before melting the chocolate, prepare a tray with well greased parchment paper that the melted chocolate will be poured onto. It’s also a good idea to clear space in the fridge so that the tray will fit, and double check to make sure that it will be able to be easily placed into the fridge so that the bark sets on a smooth, straight surface.
You can also get all of your toppings out and ready so that you can pop them straight onto the melted chocolate when ready. Here are some ideas for toppings for your spooky season bark:
Melt the chocolate either in the microwave in 30 second bursts or in a double boiler, where you bring a saucepan of water up to the boil then carefully place a heatproof bowl with the chopped chocolate above it, and stir continuously until the chocolate has melted.
Once the chocolate has melted, pour it onto the prepared tray, then smooth it out to a flat rectangle.
Top the melted chocolate with your choice of sweet Halloween food decorations until topped to your liking. Then carefully move the tray to the fridge for at least 4 hours, or until the chocolate has fully hardened.
Once the chocolate has hardened, remove from the fridge and carefully break into bark triangles, then enjoy, storing any leftover chocolate bark in an airtight container.
