Newman’s Own Classic Oil and Vinegar Dressing is the one I always choose whenever I need vinaigrette dressing for a recipe! And this post featuring my favorite low-sugar vinaigrette gives you a big list of easy recipes that use it!

PIN Newman’s Own Classic Oil and Vinegar  Dressing!

Newman’s Own Classic Oil and Vinegar Dressing is definitely one of most used ingredients! In fact, this got added to my list of Kalyn’s Kitchen Picks a few years back after I was having a blog cooking day with my fabulous assistant Kara, and we realized that three out of four recipes we were making used this amazing low-sugar dressing in some way.

Of course the extremely low-carb is one important reason why I love this dressing, besides the pleasant flavor of course! but keep reading for more about why I love this salad dressing. And if you have a favorite recipe using it, I’d love to hear about it in the comments!

And I don’t know how long I’ve been using this classic dressing, but now the company has updated the look of the bottle, so I am updating the photos here and reminding you about how much I like it!

Who makes Newman’s Own Salad Dressings?

I love Newman’s Own Classic Oil and Vinegar Dressing (affiliate link) mostly for the flavor and the low-carb ingredients, but there’s also a wonderful story behind the company that makes this salad dressing. Newman’s Own is a food company founded by actor Paul Newman and author A. E. Hotchner in 1982. The company donates 100% of its after-tax profits to the Newman’s Own Foundation, a private nonprofit foundation which supports various educational and charitable organizations. Even though Paul Newman died in 2008, his daughter has continued to run the company, and they have donated over $600,000,000 to charity.

What makes Newman’s Own Classic Oil and Vinegar Dressing so good?

Truthfully, I don’t eat this dressing that much as just a salad dressing poured out of the bottle, although I do think it’s good that way. But I think this classic oil and vinegar dressing has the perfect flavor to use as a starting point in a recipe. To me it has a perfect balance of oil and vinegar so neither overpowers the other.

How low in carbs is Newman’s Own Classic Oil and Vinegar Dressing?

With only one carb in two tablespoons of dressing, this dressing is a great option for a carb-conscious ingredient. It also has zero sugars and zero cholesterol, with only 180 mg of sodium and 17 grams of fat.

Kalyn’s Kitchen Picks is a blog feature where I spotlight products I love. Everything featured as one of my picks is a product I purchased myself, and because I want readers to know that my choices are completely unbiased, I don’t accept sample products from the many companies that offer to send them to me. You can see all the products I’ve spotlighted at Kalyn’s Kitchen Picks.
