This recipe uses tender cabbage leaves to wrap around tasty stuffing instead of the typical wheat or all-purpose flour (maida) wrappers. And, you get light, gluten-free, low-carb momos for guilt-free snacking anytime you want.

Ingredients:
- Cabbage Leaves
- 1tbsp oil
- 1 medium onion
- 5-6 garlic cloves
- 1 medium carrot
- ½ cup finely chopped cabbage
- 1 medium capsicum
- 4-5 tbsp paneer (Indian cottage cheese) – Optional
- 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
- 1 tsp salt (or as per your taste)
- 1 tbsp red chili sauce
- 1/2 tbsp soya sauce
- ½ tbsp vinegar
Instructions:
Boiling Cabbage Leaves:
- Begin by cutting cabbage, removing the stem, and separating leaves.
- Chop the remaining cabbage for stuffing.
- Take a pan and heat water in it over a medium flame.
- Add cabbage leaves to boiling water. Keep leaves in boiling water for 5-7 minutes or until it gets soft.
- Take out softened leaves. Repeat step 4 for all cabbage leaves (depending on the quantity you want to prepare).
Stuffing:
- Take a pan and heat some oil over a medium flame.
- Add 5-7 chopped garlic cloves and stir for a while.
- Add finely chopped onion (medium-sized) and keep stirring until it turns translucent.
- Next, add ½ cup finely chopped cabbage, one finely chopped capsicum, and one grated carrot to it. Cook this mixture on a high flame for 1 minute.
- You can also add some mashed paneer in the stuffing (optional).
- Add salt to taste, black pepper powder, ½ tbsp soya sauce, 1tsp vinegar, 1 tbsp red chilli sauce, and mix everything well.
Roll the Momos:
- Gently pat dry the boiled cabbage leaves using a clean kitchen towel to remove excessive moisture.
- Lay a boiled cabbage leaf flat and trim any tough stem portion.
- Remove its thick stem portion with a knife for easy folding.
- Add stuffing into the leaves and fold gently to form a roll.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 for all the boiled leaves for as many momos as you want.
Cooking Cabbage Momos:
- Take another pan and heat oil in it over a medium flame.
- Shallow fry cabbage momos in it.
- Rolls are ready to serve with any chutney of your choice.
